Ep 64. Dr. Ferial Pearson: An Educator of Educators, TikTok Famous Breadmaker, Author, Activist, and Mom

Today we are having a captivating conversation with Dr. Ferial Pearson. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Dr. Pearson identifies as a queer, Muslim, Indian-African immigrant woman, first-generation college graduate, educator, community activist, speaker, writer, and creator of the internationally-recognized Secret Kindness Agents Project. Pearson earned a BA in Language Arts Teaching from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2001, an MS in Urban Instruction from UNO in 2009, and an Ed.D from UNO in 2017.  You might recognize her from her famous TikTok videos from her quarantine bread making OR her UNO Tedx talk OR her global Secret Kindness Agents Project. Dr. Ferial Pearson is quite simply a badass.

She has had to endure threats, hate speech, entire school districts throwing her under the bus when she had been hired by the districts to speak on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Privilege.
